Wailea Proposal photography at sunrise

When Andrew contacted us to photograph a proposal to his soon-to-be-fiancée, we got to work to plan the perfect surprise. There are two ways we approach proposals, and for this session we opted to keep Adam hidden as Andrew popped the question.

Keeping hidden at sunrise when you have the beach entirely to yourself poses an interesting challenge, and Adam had to be sure he placed the couple in just the right spot without giving his location away.

Adam placed a stick in the sand and the night before the shoot let Andrew know about his plan: Andrew would walk to the stick, perfectly in Adam’s line of sight, and pop the question.

No one questioned why the stick might be randomly placed in the sand, and the surprise went off without a hitch! Congrats Andrew and Kimia, and thank you for choosing us as your proposal photographers on Maui!
