When I was editing Hannah’s sunrise maternity session, my fingers seized up. It was so bizarre and probably abnormal, but I realized they were used to editing at lightning speed, almost on autopilot, using the shortcuts and actions we’ve developed in Photoshop over the years.
Let me tell you, I’m RUSTY. What used to take me thirty seconds takes me nearly two minutes, and I then realized why. We used to photograph 6 shoots a week… and I realized we’ve shot and edited 6…TOTAL… in nearly. Six. MONTHSSS. Gaahhhhh.
So what used to take me little now takes me long, although it doesn’t matter. It feels nice to edit, and get back to some sort of normalcy, something that is in such short supply. Each day is different, truly, the last several months have had ups and downs of epic proportions. The only thing I can say with certainty is that we’re ready to continue doing what we love, sans finger seizing, and hope that day comes sooner rather than later.
Here’s hoping you’re all hanging in there okay – if you’re not, feel free to reach out. Let’s keep lifting one another up as much as we did in the early days of this pandemic. Check in with a friend or business owner, be a good neighbor. Just be kind.
Congratulations Hannah, we know you guys are going to be amazing parents!
