Looking for budget-friendly south Maui dining ideas? When traveling to Maui it’s natural that you’ll be dining out during your stay. That can get expensive, right? Maybe you splurge on one or two meals but the rest of the time want to enjoy delicious food on a still-delicious yet cost-friendly level. AND, you can use that extra room in your budget for… I don’t know… a photoshoot?!

Budget-friendly south Maui dining ideas

Our favorite places to eat in south Maui are not only delicious but relatively inexpensive compared to some of the resort dining areas. I am going to write a whole new blog post about places to eat outside of south Maui, but for now will focus on yummy bites in the Kihei and Wailea areas.

  1. Maui Thai Bistro
Located in the back left corner of the Rainbow Mall, Maui Thai Bistro has been our go-to date day and date night location for several years. My favorite drink to order is their Thai iced tea, and their dishes are all very yummy. Staff are also super friendly which ticks a necessary box for service! I get drunken fish and we always start with shiitake spring rolls. Yum!
  2. Eskimo Candy
We love Davey Jones fish-n-chips from Eskimo Candy. Super fresh and delicious! If we can’t make it in we usually just order it from Hopper.
  3. Pita Paradise
I feel like I write about Pita Paradise a lot, but it really is delicious! They have a great happy hour menu making it one of our favorite buget-friendly south Maui dining ideas, and our favorite dish to order would have to be the sauteed mushrooms. It’s hard to explain their flavor, so just do yourself a favor and add some to your order!
  4. Monsoon India / Monsoon Bar & Grill
This place has some epic Indian food! I always get Malai Kofta (mild, I’m a weakling) and an order of samosas. Adam loves the chicken Makhani which is also really delicious, and you can’t forget the garlic naan!

What about you – what are your favorite budget-friendly south Maui dining ideas? Feel free to let us know, there are so many good places to eat that we can’t fit them all here, but drop us a comment below to let us know! While you’re at it, be sure to book a babymoon session with us and enjoy a fun beach photoshoot in Wailea before your head to a yummy dinner out!
