Makena Cove Maui Sunrise Elopement

Weddings

the blog

The ceremony was originally supposed to happen at sunset – the day before their sunrise elopement. Unfortunately, a major backup of traffic on the other side of the island saw Charles and Mikaela not making it to their own elopement, but never fear – the next morning at sunrise proved the perfect alternative and we met the couple in the early morning for their vow exchange.

On the way to Makena Cove, however, they stopped at an ABC Store where Charles accidentally left his wallet. So, after the ceremony while Adam photographed the couple on the beah their officiant Kyle headed to the ABC and found their wallet, phoning them from the shop and the couple shared a high five and breathed a much deserved sigh of relief.

After some portraits on the beach, the original plan was to slip in to another dress to trash in the water but in the hustle of the last few hours, Mikaela realized she’d left her gown at the hotel. Again, not to worry – they jumped in the cool blue waters in their swimwear, topping off an epic sunrise elopement to be remembered!

Thank you Charles and Mikaela for letting us be a part of this memorable celebration, and here is a little preview of your wedding day which, although full of unplanned turns, ended up just as beautiful as the love you share between you.
