Ten years ago, these two were married at the beach on Maui so they returned to the same spot to have their portraits taken with the kids! I’ve never seen a boy love the water so much. Just as our session began he bolted to the sea and remained planted in the sand for the duration of the portrait at Po’olenalena Beach in Maui. It was perfect! Let’s face it: the kids are just up from a powernap, they’re at the beach – who can blame them for not wanting to keep still? While a few posed shots are on the cards if time and tempers allow, families with kids are best captured naturally, and this candid approach to family photography is what we’re all about!
The reason Adam and I shoot portraits together is the same as the reason we do weddings together as well: more opportunity and flexibility. Adam can pull the kids aside to play games while I photograph mom and dad together, or we can create a fun atmosphere together where we create games to pass the time. The energy that younger children have is immense, but so is our patience, and the resulting images are always a truthful representation of the beauty of your afternoon on Maui, full of the authentic energy and love that a family share.
If you choose us as your Maui family photographers you’ll not only come away with a treasury of warm and beautiful images, but have a great time achieving them! Contact us now to arrange a portrait session on Maui.
