Maui Honeymoon Portraits with Ciera and Steve

Maui honeymoon portraits pair perfectly with a pastel sunrise! It was our pleasure to photograph Ciera and Steve. This couple honeymooning in Hawaii has a love story as sweet as the sunrise itself.

The pair visited Maui from Michigan. Staying at the Grand Wailea, they chose the peaceful hotel location in close proximity to their morning photoshoot! Ciera wore a beaitiful blue dress that harmonized perfectly with the pastel hues of sunrise. For sunrise, we tell our clients most colors work as the light is so soft and beautiful. Sunset can be a different story, however, as brighter light can make colors reflect on the skin.

How their love story evolved

Their love story began on the dating app Hinge. Miraculously, they matched despite being outside each other’s search radius. Steve didn’t let the distance stop him. He drove through snowy winter roads to meet up with her, and soon began making two-hour weekend trips east to Iron Mountain to see Ciera. After a year of sharing the drive, Steve moved closer, and they’ve been inseparable ever since.

“We took a week-long trip to Arizona early into dating, spending time hiking, adventuring, and even taking a little day-trip flight to San Diego. During that trip we really got to know each other, challenge each other, and fall even more in love. It’s a fond memory for us both! We even went back to Phoenix the next year where Steve proposed! It’s such a special spot for us to visit.”
