We photograph so many fun trash the dress sessions on Maui, many of which are on land and in the water but some of which are underwater which while challenging are super rewarding. Adam and I enjoyed a day off and decided to go on an excursion to Lana’i with Pacific Whale Foundation. With the gown I wore to our vow renewal scrunched up in a bag, we set off on our snorkeling adventure.
When we reached our second snorkel spot, I donned the gown and launched off the side of the boat so Adam could take some shots of me. It made me realize it wasn’t easy to pose underwater with a dress on (drrr) but the process can be extremely peaceful and enjoyable. I basically just floated and posed while Adam photographed me – it was freeing and a wonderful experience. I look back on these images only a week later and think – now THAT is cool. Something to show our kids one day – and something to remember fondly our vow renewal on Kaua’i that took place in April – can’t wait to share some of those images, too! For now, a preview of the underwater trash the dress shoot we did off Lana’i.
