This Maui family portrait we photographed recently in Wailea brought back so many feelings from when we had our first family portraits taken years ago.

Our son was of a similar age and the looks in these parents faces when they interact with him during their portrait session is so reminiscent of the way Adam and I looked at our son all those years ago. Truly, I can’t believe he’s now entering kindergarten and the images I look back on show a chunky, beautiful little bald baby with the crispiest blue eyes you’ve ever seen, a seemingly unending smile only matched by our own.

Ally and Bill, I can only hope you look back on these beach portraits we took together and feel all the same things, remembering the time when your boy was so small. What they say is true, it goes fast, but in those fleeting moments is a lasting beauty that can be easily told through imagery.
