Can I be honest? I gave up on New Years Resolutions long ago. Promises of more fitness, less coffee, you name it, were broken within days as settling in to the routine of daily caffeination and regular-but-not-forced beach walks took over.
As we rang in 2016, we took time to reflect on some of our favorite shoots from the previous year, and the results are below. Enjoy and we hope you will be a part of our 2016!

Makena Sunset Wedding
Phil and Anna’s Makena Beach Resort wedding was beautiful and the sunset did not disappoint. One thing about Maui sunsets – they can light up at the most unexpected times, in this case as we were headed to the reception but stopped for a few bridal portraits on the beach to capture these stunning skies and beautiful bride!
09.
Maui Maternity Portrait
Our friend Barb was expecting a baby and the afternoon we took her beach maternity portraits was just what we had hoped – moody skies, a pastel sunset and, of course, beautiful mother-to-be! Since this session she and her husband welcomed a baby girl and we feel so fortunate to have captured these portraits for them.

Maui Elopement Sunset Kiss
We always like to give the option to our clients at the end of the session to jump in the water if the conditions are favorable, this simple sunset beach elopement was at a perfect location for Kara and Amanda’s post-ceremony kiss in the ocean!
07.
Watching Mom and Dad
Family moments, especially with little ones, often do not go to plan. So when these boys decided to sit by the water’s edge and both look up at Mom and Dad sharing a kiss at sunset, who are we to stop them?

Underwater Trash the Dress Photography
We could not include some of our favorite images from this year with out showing some of our underwater work. In 2015 we really wanted to push what was possible for us under the sea with styled trash the dress sessions for our clients. We strove to take the best images at the best locations on Maui. We are very passionate about producing the most unique and beautiful images we can. A huge thank you to all our clients who trust us enough to get wet fully clothed as our images would not be possible without you.

Maui Trash the Dress Portraits
We are lucky to live and work in such an amazing location, but some days are just more memorable than others. Take this afternoon for example. We met up with Lester and Eve the day after their beautiful wedding at the Marriott Resort in Wailea and as soon as the shoot started it began to rain. A beautiful rainbow then appeared and what followed was one of the more memorable and colorful sunsets we have yet to witness on Maui.
This couple lives hours from the closest beach and do not get to see this every day so we know they will appreciate these images as much if not more than we do. On a side note this is not Eve’s original wedding gown, a lot of our clients use a similar or separate dresses to get salty with!

Olowalu PlantatioN House Wedding
This was our first wedding at Olowalu Plantation House, and a beautiful location with fun clients made for a day of laughter and big smiles. This is a favorite first dance image as it sums up the fun-loving couple perfectly.
03.
Underwater Session on Maui
This underwater session was one to remember with perfect conditions and clients who are just as compatible underwater as they are on land!
02.
Sunset Splash Session
This is one from a recent family session with three teenage girls who were not afraid to have a little fun on one of our favorite beaches in Maui.

Sunrise Trash the Dress Session
Emily and PJ were married at Olowalu Plantation House and a couple of days later we took her beautiful pink ruffled gown for a dip in the saltwater just before sunrise.
all are so beautiful thanks for sharing.
Thank you, Happy New Year!
