We may be biased, but Maui sunset maternity pictures are an absolute must.

As a mom of two myself, self-care is something that I rarely do. I mean, unless applying deodorant in the morning counts? So, on my limited repitoire of self-care activities, I schedule a haircut with Kelsie every couple of months to keep my locks fresh (even though they ultimately end up tied up in a mom bun).

I photographed Kelsie’s Maui sunset maternity pictures at the beach just before the light faded. I love the results of this maternity/family session taken just a few days before they welcomed their second child.

Here are some great ways to make the most of even the tiniest photography session:

• Split the time between maternity and family portraits. If your partner is joining you, have them play off to the side while you have your pics taken, then bring everyone in.
• Keep it comfy. Choose an outfit you feel great in, and always bring a set of swimwear if you want to cool off. This doesn’t need to mean a full-fledged swim, perching on the shoreline and letting the waves wash up is perfection.
• Have your hair and makeup done! Perfect for selfies before your shoot, professional makeup and and hair looks great during and well after your session.
